A Small Space, A Big Step for Community Wellness

Updated: 1 hour ago

Today marks a meaningful milestone for Tao One as we officially opened the Royal Healthcare Tao One Wellness Centre at 154B Bedok South Road.

This project began its journey two years ago, initiated under the guidance and encouragement of our then-advisor, former Minister Dr Maliki Osman. From the very beginning, the vision was clear: to create an accessible, community-centric wellness space that integrates traditional wisdom with modern innovation, even within limited physical constraints.

Built entirely from scratch, the centre occupies just over 400 square feet. Yet within this modest footprint, we have thoughtfully designed a fully functional facility that includes a physician consultation room, two treatment rooms, and a wheelchair-friendly toilet, ensuring inclusivity and dignity for all who visit. Every square foot reflects careful planning, practicality, and a deep understanding of community needs.

The wellness centre offers Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) consultations, tit tar treatments focusing on bone alignment and musculoskeletal balance, as well as a locally developed AI-powered tuina machine, EMMA. This innovative system uses artificial intelligence to identify and apply targeted acupoint pressure, helping to relieve tension and discomfort precisely where it is needed. It represents our belief that tradition and technology are not opposing forces, but complementary partners in modern healthcare.

We were deeply honored that Mr Dinesh Vasu Dash, Minister of State for the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and the Ministry of Manpower, Mayor of the South East District, and Advisor to the East Coast GRCs (Bedok), graced the opening ceremony. MOS Dinesh not only delivered a warm and encouraging speech but also took time to tour the facility and experience the services firsthand. His tit tar treatment session provided him with noticeable relief from tension—an affirmation of the very purpose this centre was built to serve.

The opening of the Royal Healthcare Tao One Wellness Centre is more than the launch of a physical space. It is a statement of intent: that community wellness can be thoughtfully delivered, even on a small scale, when guided by purpose, collaboration, and care. We look forward to this centre becoming a trusted, everyday touchpoint for health, healing, and well-being for the Bedok community and beyond.

We would also like to thank Royal Healthcare for their generosity in making this possible.
