Hall of Hundred Surnames: Honoring Our Ancestors 
百姓堂 · 传承家族之根

At Tao One Ltd (Tian Fu Gong), we uphold filial piety as a core value in our teachings. However, as families modernize and move away from traditional practices, many no longer keep ancestor altars at home or are unable to return to their hometowns to perform ancestral rites. Over time, this has led to the diminishing recognition of ancestral heritage, and many smaller clan associations face closure due to the lack of younger successors.

To preserve this important tradition, we established the Hall of Hundred Surnames (Baixing Tang), inspired by the classical text Hundred Family Surnames. The hall represents inclusiveness among Chinese heritage surnames, offering a shared space for families to honor and remember their ancestors. To our knowledge, this is the first and only such setup in Southeast Asia.

The hall was consecrated on the 15th day of the 7th lunar month in 2021, with Taoist priests from various dialect traditions. We continue to lead ancestral prayer services during major Chinese festivals, including:

• Lunar New Year

• Qing Ming

• Duan Wu (Dumpling Festival)

• Zhong Yuan Festival

• Mid-Autumn Festival

• Double Ninth Festival

• Winter Solstice

Families who wish to pray for their ancestors, or who are unable to continue such practices at home, are welcome to contact us for guidance.

在天富宫白龙王，我们一直强调 孝道 是修身行善之根本。然而随着时代变迁，不少家庭已不再设祖先牌位，或因工作与迁移而无法回乡祭祖，久而久之，后人容易淡忘传统，许多小姓氏宗亲会也面临传承断层。

​

为传承此文化，本宫设立 百姓堂，参考《百家姓》典籍，以象征华人不同姓氏同源共融，让大众在同一空间中缅怀先人，承续家族香火。据我们所知，这是东南亚首个同类型祖先共祀殿堂。

​

百姓堂已于 农历七月十五日（2021年） 由各大方言道长共同开光。其后，本宫于各大华族传统节日带领大众进行祖先祭祀，包括：

• 农历新年

• 清明节

• 端午节

• 中元节

• 中秋节

• 重阳节

• 冬至​
